Nut Rolls
Filling:
3 1/2 cups walnuts
1 1/4 cups sugar
1/3 cup honey
3 Tbs butter
1 cup milk
2 beaten eggs
Mix all ingredients and cook on slow fire until it comes to a boil. Remove from heat and cool before using.
Dough for rolls:
3 pkgs dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
7 cups flour
3 Tbs baking powder
2 cups butter or oleo
4 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup (1/2 pint) sour cream
Crumble or sprinkle yeast into warm water. Sift flour with sugar, salt, and baking powder into large bowl. Cut in butter until mixed and through. Add yeast and eggs. Mix well. Blend in sour cream. Refrigerate 6 hours or overnight. Roll dough on a board sprinkled with the mixture of flour and sugar.
Add nut mixture and roll up. Brush rolls with the mixture of 1 egg and 3 Tbs milk. Bake at 350 on greased cookie sheet for 30 minutes.
